CDL leaves fans disappointed with CoD Champs venue location

We already knew who the 2025 Call of Duty League Championship host was, but fans didn’t expect the venue to be so different from the location.
The CDL usually waits until late in the year to announce the location for Champs, but everything was revealed before the 2025 regular season started. Toronto Ultra hosted Major 1 in Madrid, OpTic Texas is currently hosting Major 2 in Dallas, Texas, and Miami Heretics will host Major 3 in Boca Raton, Florida.

Fans expected the event to occur in Toronto as that’s where previous events have been, but that isn’t the case.

Tickets for the event are on sale now, but fans should read the fine print before planning their trip. In 2024, Toronto Ultra hosted its major at Ryerson’s Mattamy Athletic Centre, which is located in downtown Toronto.

Former Toronto Ultra and current LA Thieves player Scrap responded, “Champs should always be in a big city. Literally ALWAYS.”
100 Thieves Co-Owner Jack “Courage” Dunlop added, “This has to be a troll location lol.”
“Kitchener?? We’re joking, right? This has to be a f**king joke,” a third fan argued.

Though the price fluctuates through the day, getting an Uber from the airport most fans are coming in from to the venue or any spot near it will cost around $80 USD. Taking the train, meanwhile, would take more than 2 hours.
